Heiberg Farms

Tofield, Alberta

Lyle & Rebecca Heiberg and Family

The origin of Heiberg Farms began in 1926, when Odd and Ragna Heiberg sold their farm in Ringerike, Norway and immigrated to a farm in central Alberta near Kingman, southeast of Edmonton.

Today Lyle and Rebecca are the third generation to farm this land. We have 3 children, Severin and Kierstin who are working off the farm and Erika who is at home in highschool. As they were growing up, our children have always been involved in the 4-H Beef Club, and with their dad have shown cattle a number of years at Farmfair in Edmonton.

We run a cow/calf operation of 350 purebred and commercial Salers cows. Salers cattle originated in the mountainous regions of France and are well suited to our rugged Canadian winters. We grow our own feed, perennial and annual forages, and take great pride in knowing that in Alberta, we produce some of the best beef in the world.

As stewards of this land, it is important to us to produce beef in such a manner that will be sustainable and healthy for our ranch and for the environment, and that this can continue to be true for our children and future generations.
